Franklin's first job for Lester in this line is the one you can't really put off. He's staying at the Von Crastenburg Hotel, and the window to hit him is when he leaves the building. It's not a huge mission in terms of map travel, but it feels important because it opens the door to Franklin's move up in Los Santos.
How the Hit Usually Plays Out
Once you reach the hotel, Franklin takes position in the multi-storey car park opposite the entrance. You'll get a short wait before Lowrey appears, so don't rush the shot. The cleanest method is using a sniper rifle, especially if you're chasing the Gold Medal objective tied to that weapon. Some players prefer sticky bombs on the car, and yes, it works, but it won't satisfy that sniper requirement. After the target drops, leave the area fast. If nobody sees you make the kill, you may avoid a wanted level, which makes the escape much less annoying.
Gold Medal and Story Payoff
The Gold Medal goals are not complicated, but they do push you to play neatly. You need to finish within the required time, kill Lowrey with the sniper rifle, and earn enough money from the job. After the hit, Franklin calls Lester, and the reward is more than cash. Lester arranges a house in Vinewood Hills for tax reasons and has Franklin move in. The money side is where this mission really matters. Before starting, put all three protagonists' cash into Betta Pharmaceuticals on BAWSAQ.
